Jacqueline Fernandez grew up in Bahrain, Manama. She is Sri Lankan and comes from an ethnically diverse background. Jacqueline's parents are Malaysian as well as Sri Lankan. The father of Jacqueline is Elroy Fernandez is from Sri Lanka. Jacqueline is the oldest of two siblings and a younger sibling. She was born and raised in Bahrain. Her parents moved there in the 1980s as a result of the turmoil in Sri Lanka. After graduating from the schooling in Bahrain she received a Scholarship at the University of Sydney to pursue the Media and Communications Degree in Sydney, Australia. She went to in the Berlitz School of Foreign Languages, which allowed her to improve her French, Arabic and Spanish. In 2006, she was crowned Miss Sri Lanka. Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe 2006 in March 2006, and was also a contestant at Miss Universe 2006. After winning Miss Sri Lanka title in 2006, she took on the world of television. She hosted a program that was a business show in Sri Lanka called Lanka Business Report. Padukone is the child of of badminton champ Prakash Padukone. Padukone grew her life in Bangalore however, she is a native of Copenhagen. In her teens she was a badminton player in National level competitions. She later resigned her profession in sports in order to be a fashion model. Padukone was born in Mangalore, India. Her mother tongue Konkani is her mother tongue. Her family tree is rooted in Padukone village, which is located in Kundapura Taluk in the Udupi District of Karnataka, the Indian state. Karnataka, India. The father of her, Prakash Padukone, is a retired badminton player of global repute. Her mother works as a travel agent.
